the field. It is intended to become an interactive tool for both
the general public and professionals wanting to:

and public seminars
- Communicate about typical questions and answers about CBT
- Locate a cognitive-behaviour therapist in South Africa
- Further investigate the approach via our associated links
Cognitive-behavioural therapy is an evidence-based, scientifically
driven approach toward the treatment of emotional and behavioural
problems. It is highly practical and action-orientated and has been
shown to be highly effective in treating a variety of problems,
including:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders (panic, phobias, OCD, PTSD, GAD)
- Bulimia and obesity
- Dysfunctional anger and aggression
- Shame, shyness, and assertiveness problems
- Relationship problems
- Jealousy
- Substance abuse
- Impulse control
- Behavioural problems and ADHD
Despite the overwhelming scientific evidence for its effectiveness
as a dominant therapeutic approach, there still often seems to be
an insufficient level of appreciation for cognitive-behaviour therapy
within both the professional and general community of South Africa.
